When young people are injured or killed in an auto accident, parents are typically ones who have to deal with the medical costs. Not to mention the emotional repercussions. The ones who actually make it through the accident who are injured will have a lifetime of medical bills and health issues to deal with. Parents who have to pay for this end up with a massive amount of debt as a result.

Take, for example, the story of a family whose son was hit by a drunk driver. The medical bills amounted to over $150,000 and their insurance only covered twenty percent of the costs. The boy suffered from skull fractures, broken bones, a punctured lung and other severely debilitating damage as a result.

Auto accidents can be extremely traumatic and when the victim is a young person, the accident can have a horrible effect on his future. The injuries also have a devastating impact on the person’s future income.
