Katelyn Baker, 15, was killed after she drove her car around a railroad crossing bar and was hit by a train in Johnson County.

Baker had recently received a provisionary driver's license. and witnesses say she drove her car around the crossing arms and was hit by an Amtrak passenger train. None of the passengers on the train were injured.

It is always a tragedy when accidents like this occur. These sorts of accidents are avoidable and that is why it is important that drivers obey the rules of the road and never try to bypass or manipulate railroad crossing bars.
